12. Definitions:

Wastage/Polish

Wastage charges in gold jewellery are extra fees added to the price, theoretically covering the small amount of gold lost during cutting, filing, melting, and polishing. Typically ranging from 15% to 20% (often higher for complex, handcrafted, or studded pieces), it is calculated as a percentage of the gold’s weight

Purpose: Covers non-recoverable metal lost during the manufacturing process.

Variation: Simple machine-made jewellery has lower wastage (10%–15%), while intricate, handcrafted, or stone-studded designs can incur higher charges, sometimes over 20%.

Will it be returned?
No’ as it is non recoverable, so customer has to pay for it. At time of return/resale only weight on scale will be counted (sarafa association of Abbottabad/Pakistan)

While at time of buy customer has to pay for weight on scale + wastage/polish ( lost gold and production cost) + making charges( jewellers service charges)

13. Price calculation for gold jewellery:

Formula: Total Gold Weight= net weight (weight on scale) +wastage/polish

Price= (total gold weight× Pond Pasa gold rate)+ making charges

14)Making charges:

Making charges includes

A) Packaging charges : jewellery box, shopping bags, receipts etc

B) Shop operational charges including Air conditioning, catering, seating

C) Delivery charges ( in case of remote parcel delivery)

D) Service charges: includes profit for the Jeweller

E)In case of pure gold, coin manufacturing and packing charges, uv enabled testing features cost and other design features are refered as making charges

15)Quality and Rate Policy:

A)We deal exclusively in Pond Passa Gold Jewellery and Passa Gold Coins & Bars, in accordance with the quality standards and regulations set by the Sarafa Association of Pakistan.

B)The Pond Passa jewellery and Passa gold and silver rates are projected by the Sarafa Association of Abbottabad under the rules of the Sarafa Association of Pakistan.

C)The Pond Gold and Silver rates displayed on our website and mobile application are inclusive of packing and making charges, ensuring complete transparency for our customers.
